(2) How to Sign into Zendesk

The purpose of this article is to assist users with signing into Zendesk. Zendesk at its core is a Help Desk and Customer Relationship Management tool or CRM. It is designed to keep track of your engagements (Help Desk aspect) with the people who reach out to you for support (CRM aspect). 

In this document, we will cover the following:

  • Signing into Zendesk as a First Time User (no invite)
  • Signing in as a First Time User
  • Signing in as a Returning User

Signing into Zendesk as a First Time User (no invite)

If you did not receive  a Welcome to Zendesk Support email invitation with a link to sign in for the first time, you’ll follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://{yourdomain}.zendesk.com/ to access your Zendesk.
  2. Click Forgot Password?
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Once you receive the password change email, create a new password.
  5. Skip to step 4 under Signing into Zendesk as a First Time User.

 

Signing into Zendesk as a First Time User

If you received a Welcome to Zendesk Support email invitation with a link to sign in for the first time, you’ll follow these steps:

  1. Accept the invitation and create your account. Note: Google Chrome is the recommended web browser. After creating your account, bookmark the URL https://{yourdomain}.zendesk.com/ for easy access to Zendesk.

  1. Enter your first and last name and create Your password.
  2. Click Create account

  1. Click Get Started.
  2. Click Settings to update your Profile.

  1. Enter your First and Last Name.
  2. Add your photo, if required. 
  3. Update the Time zone.
  4. Enter your Signature. Check with your leader for the signature standard. This will appear on all email correspondence with your customers.
  5. Click Update.

You're signed in! Your screen should look like this:

 

Signing into Zendesk as a Return User

By now, you have bookmarked the Zendesk URL https://{yourdomain}.zendesk.com/ for easy access.

  1. Click the Zendesk URL. Remember, Google Chrome is the recommended web browser.

  1. Enter your Email address.
  2. Enter your Password.
  3. Click Sign in
  4. Click the View icon in the side menu.
